Do you check the consensus before or after making your own pick?

On here I can see what everyone else picked before I make mine, and I've noticed it pulls me toward the popular side. Lately I've been making my own call first and only looking at the consensus afterwards, as a cross-check. Which way round do you do it?

Mine first, always. If I look first I end up talking myself out of the pick I actually liked.
